Road traffic accidents and incidents are one of the biggest concerns faced by Safety, Health, and Environment professionals. Studies have shown that achieving employee commitment to safety policies is easier in a manufacturing environment, mainly because safety processes and procedures can be closely monitored and supervised. However, when these policies have to be adapted for employees who drive a vehicle as a regular part of their jobs, it becomes a complicated issue. Drivers are constantly exposed to several road traffic hazards. What can we do? How do we monitor these hazards? We believe that the most appropriate way to deal with this issue is by changing attitudes and behaviors. Our safety programs are developed to help employees meet the requirements of their jobs, while at the same time achieve an excellent driving safety performance. CEPA presents alternatives and solutions to minimize the risks these employees are exposed to on a daily basis.  |
